At the height of 4566 m mount meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth highest on the African continent. Its district appearance was formed around 250000 years ago by the tremendous volcanic eruption that destroyed the entire eastern flank, leaving the horse shoe shaped crater. Not only that also mount meru boast impressive view and diverse vegetation, it also gives you chance to see wildlife in the form of walking safari. On your trek you may came across large wildlife animals such as giraffe, buffaloes, baboons, elephants, antelopes and colobus monkey.as the vegetation change from tropical forest into moorland and finally alpine desert .the frequency of the animal you will see diminish so you will shifting your focus on the landscape .you will be accompanied by the armed park ranger on your ascend and descend the mountain.
